A statue to commemorate Fred Drummond has been erected at New Lubbesthorpe.

As one of his passions was fishing for Scottish salmon, artist Andrew Frost (www.treeart.co.uk) has carved an atlantic salmon from a fallen oak limb which is now on display within the rain garden in front of the new primary school.

The statue has been funded by friends of Fred. His passion was fishing for Atlantic salmon in Scotland particularly on the River Borgie Sutherland which he loved and cared for from 1987 to 2015. The Borgie is a Designated Special Area of Conservation due to its populations of freshwater pearl mussel, Atlantic salmon, and European otter

Fred Drummond would have been proud of the sustainable community unfolding at New Lubbesthorpe, where his ideas are fast coming to life and a wonderful legacy is being delivered.
