Community gets a helping hand at New Lubbesthorpe
Pioneer community worker appointed to shape community spirit at New Lubbesthorpe
Sue Steer has been appointed by Churches Together in Leicestershire as the main point of contact for new residents moving into this vibrant new neighbourhood.
Sue said: "Having previously grown a Community Centre out of hardly used and dilapidated old buildings in Hinckley, I’m ready for a new challenge to start from scratch again and help a new community grow. I'm a bit of an innovator, which means I love to work with other people to help get new things off the ground. Welcoming and getting to know people is something I enjoy too, I'd love food to be involved and when the Community Cabin arrives the coffee (or tea) will always be on as well as some food sharing too I hope, so do visit!
"I'm really excited about the potential for the outside space too, there is masses of open space and woodland planned so getting out there to help facilitate activities and events for all ages is on my list. I can’t wait to meet the new home owners so we can dream some dreams about what living in Lubbesthorpe will be like."
